When a GP bulk bills you, they send your claim directly to Medicare and accept the Medicare benefit as full payment, so you pay nothing at the appointment. This is available for patients with a Medicare card.

1. Check if the GP offers bulk billing - not all clinics bulk bill all patients.

2. Bring your Medicare card to your appointment.

3. You may be asked to sign an “Assignment of Benefit”.

4. Medicare pays your GP directly and you pay nothing at the time of service for eligible consultations.
